    Happy Thursday Sharks,

    Tomorrow is our last regular swim meet!! I hope you are as excited and ready as I am! PLEASE NOTE THE GATES WILL OPEN AT 6:30AM FOR SET UP FOR THE MEET on Saturday MORNING.

    SWIMTOPIA APP:

    • The events your swimmer is swimming in are available in the SwimTopia app. What I love about the app is it also gives a prediction for when that particular race will occur, and gives you updates that the race is starting. And our wonderful Meet Ref, Kevin Tune, does the best job sticking to it!
    • BUT, THE RESULTS ON SWIMTOPIA ARE UNOFFICIAL! Final results will be sent out after the meet.

    MEET DELAYS & VOLUNTEER SHORTAGE:

    The only reason our meet might have events delayed is (1) WEATHER- and unless there is lightning we will be swimming OR (2) VOLUNTEER SHORTAGE. We are still in need of:

    • ICE
    • TACOS
    • GATORADE
    • CANDY (skittles, starburst etc. please no blow pops or ring pops)
    • 2 SECOND HALF TIMERS
    • READY BENCH
    • SECOND HALF RUNNER
    • 8 SECOND HALF TIMERS

    PARENT’S RELAY:

    • We are hoping to make two relays again!
    • I just ask that you please be dressed to swim (by Event 33) as we will not have enough time for you to change (nor do we have the bathroom space!)

    SWIM CAPS:

    • If your swimmer is in need of a swim cap, I will have extras for sale for $5.

    SWIM MEET INFO- Saturday, June 6th VS. Harmony Hills

    • GATES OPEN AT 6:30AM
    • WHERE: SHADOW CLIFF; 15110 EAGLE GROVE 78232
    • GATES OPEN: AT 6:30 AM for everyone (NON-VOLUNTEERS)
    • WARM-UPS: Shadow Cliff 6:45-7:15AM
    • OFFICIAL’S MEETING: 7:15AM (Meeting will be under the canopy by the shed at the starter location.)
    • TIMER’S MEETING: 7:35AM (Meeting will be by the diving boards.)
    • VOLUNTEERS:
      • Volunteer Check-In Table- check in at 7:00am (by restrooms)
      • Concessions- check in at 7:00am at the concession stand
      • Ready Bench- check in at 7:45am at the volunteer check in table (by front gate)
      • Runners & Ribbons- check in at 7:45am at the volunteer check in table (by front gate)
      • Parking Lot Attendant- check in at 6:00am with Tracy Solis (by restrooms)
    • START TIME: 8:00 AM

    SEATING:

    • Shadow Cliff will be allowed to set up chairs/canopies/picnic blankets/etc. on the baby-pool side inside the fence, and outside the fence along the street.
    • If you set up outside the fence (like most parents do for practice) you must be at least 3 feet away from the fence. This will allow all parents another viewing opportunity for their swimmer’s event.
    • The deck inside the gates will be used for viewing of the events, as well as along the fence line outside the gate. If you choose to set up outside the fence the night before, we are not responsible for any of your items, do so at your own risk.
    • All viewing areas are NOT meant for spectators to camp out in.

    PARKING:

    • You may only park on the pool side of the street on Eagle Grove, they will tow if you park on the opposite side.
    • Do not block driveways or mailboxes!

    WALKWAY CLOSED:

    • Only swimmers, coaches, and volunteers will be allowed to walk along the fence (inside) once the meet has started. Once the meet has begun, you must exit the back gate and walk around to use the restrooms. PLEASE make note, ALL SWIMMERS SHOULD BE SEATED NEAR THE COACHES BEHIND THE SHED. We will not be running around looking for your child. And please don’t leave until you have checked in with the coach!

    BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE MEET:

    • Even if your child is not swimming a relay, please check in with the coach to make sure they are not needed for a relay, as we may need them if another swimmer doesn’t show up.

    HEAT SHEETS:

    • Heat sheets will not be sold at the meet. I am attaching them to this email.
    • PLEASE print out your own copy, and mark your swimmer up (EVENT/HEAT/LANE) on either their arm or leg where it is visible to them as well as First Name INITIAL and LAST NAME (on their shoulder).
    • Ask a veteran parent for help if you need it! See attached image for guidance.

    CONCESSION ITEMS:

    • Please bring your concession items for the meet by 7:00am. Bring your cash or card and help support the team by purchasing food and drinks!

    Don’t forget to bring:

    • Extra pair of goggles
    • Two towels (at least)
    • WATER and Snacks
    • $ for concessions
    • Camping chair
    • Sunscreen
    • Something to do!
    • Sharpie
    • Team Cap (or PLAIN SOLID COLOR CAP)
    • Team Suit (or PLAIN SOLID COLOR SUIT)
    • Printed copy of Heat Sheet

    IF YOUR SWIMMER IS NOT ABLE TO SWIM:

    • We do realize emergency situations may arise, so if your swimmer is NOT ABLE TO SWIM, PLEASE CONTACT COACH SOPHIE AND TRACY!
    • IF YOU NEED TO NOTIFY US OF YOUR SWIMMER’S PARTICIPATION AFTER 6:45AM ON SATURDAY, PLEASE TEXT TRACY ONLY!!! SOPHIE IS COACHING.
