    Shark bites June 2

    Good morning Shark Families

I apologize for the late update, I have been on vacation and did not get my email out on time.

First and foremost, great jobs to all our sharks this past weekend. Everyone swam great AND we came out with the win!

Below you will find general information on our first home meet and more details on our shark a thon fundraiser. Please note the change in our participation party!

We have our first home meet this week, which means we will need a lot of help from you! If you have not already done so, please declare your swimmers!!! The coaches will start working on entries today, so please declare ASAP!

We are still in need of 28 volunteers in order to be able to run a successful meet, please help us out where you can. You can volunteer from the same link you declare your swimmer.

Look out for an email in the next day or two with more detailed information about the meet. Warm ups are early on Saturday!!!

PARENT’S RELAY- I am looking for parents interested in swimming in the parents relay! We need at least 4, but preferably 8 parent volunteers willing to swim one lap. The parent relay is run in the middle of the meet, before the IMs start. I just ask that you please be dressed to swim as we will not have enough time for you to change (nor do we have the bathroom space!) PLEASE let me know via email or text if you are interested, otherwise the first 4 parents that responded are in. I will text those that will be swimming as well as an alternate in case something comes up. [email protected] or 210-857-9710

SWIM CAPS- If your swimmer is in need of a swim cap, I will have extras for sale for $5.

    SHARK-A-THON

We are excited to announce Shadow Cliff’s 6th Annual Shark-a-Thon Fundraiser taking place during practice on Monday, June 8!

Last year, our amazing Shark families helped raise over $7,000, which directly contributed to lifting the pool deck and improving our facility. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and support of our swim community, and this year we hope to beat last year’s fundraising total!

Funds raised during this year’s Shark-a-Thon will go toward saving for new swim lines and supporting general pool maintenance to help keep our pool safe, functional, and enjoyable for all swimmers throughout the season.

This year’s Shark-a-Thon will look a little different, as it will be held during regular practice time for the first time ever. All swimmers who are present at practice will participate in the event. We ask families to please be patient as there may be slight delays during practice while swimmers complete their Shark-a-Thon challenges.

Our Shark-a-Thon is one of the most important ways we support improvements and maintenance for our team and pool, and we encourage every swimmer to participate by collecting donations from family and friends. Every contribution matters — even small donations add up!

We are also excited to offer some fun incentives for participation:

🏊 Participation IncentiveAny swimmer who raises ANY amount of money — from $0.50 and up — will be invited to a special Swim Party on June 8 from 12:00–2:00 PM!

    The swim party will include:

    • Coaches getting pied in the face and/or pushed into the pool IF we raise $2000 by Friday June 5.
    • Frozen lemonade
    • Watermelon
    • Fun with teammates and coaches

🍧 Top Fundraising Age Group IncentiveThe age group that raises the most money overall will win a Popsicle Party during their donut relay practice!

We hope this event will be a fun way to build team spirit while helping support Shadow Cliff Swim Team. Thank you in advance for your support, enthusiasm, and participation in making our 6th Annual Shark-a-Thon a success!

    Go Sharks!

Thank you for reading this all the way through. Let us know if you have any questions. We’ll be seeing you at the pool!
